GRANDOIL is delighted to announce that another international Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) service contract was awarded by MAHESHA Industries FZE, a leading Nigerian oil operator. This significant achievement marks a pivotal milestone for GRANDOIL, solidifying the company’s steady expansion into the global MPD drilling services market and exemplifying the international recognition of technical expertise in the field.
Under the terms of the contract, GRANDOIL will manufacture a full set of custom-tailored MPD equipment in accordance with MAHESHA Industries FZE’s specific operational requirements. Moreover, the company will be required to provide one-year MPD services for three development wells in Nigeria, where sour gas may be encountered during drilling operations. The core objectives of deploying MPD technology for this project are to effectively mitigate the key drilling challenges of partial or total lost circulation and/or stuck pipe incidents, and to minimize non-productive time (NPT) – a critical goal for optimizing drilling efficiency and project economics.
To ensure the safe, successful and seamless delivery of MPD services in the unique operational environment of African drilling sites, GRANDOIL has launched a comprehensive and rigorous project preparation plan. First and foremost, the team conducted detailed discussion with MAHESHA Industries FZE to fully understand all requirements and operational expectations. The company will then carry out a thorough analysis of historical MPD equipment failure cases and put suppliers under scrutiny to ensure that every piece of MPD equipment satisfies the highest quality standards, the international industry standards and the specific requirements of the Nigerian project. Dedicated manpower and sufficient resources will be allocated to the manufacturing of the MPD equipment, with a stringent focus on quality control.
In addition to equipment fabrication and supply chain optimization, GRANDOIL is also heavily investing in its field operation team. Beyond the experienced team members who led the MPD project in Kuwait, different personnel have been selected and scheduled to undertake customized language training and industry-specific safety training. This initiative is designed to fully equip the field team with necessary language skills, knowledge and safety awareness in order to conduct the MPD services efficiently and safely on-site.
While new challenges inherent to expanding MPD operations into African continent are anticipated, GRANDOIL remains committed to its core principle of value creation for clients. Leveraging its extensive MPD project experience and proven technical capabilities, GRANDOIL is fully confident to complete the project within the time frame.
