EKM® MPD Equipment

EKM^® MPD drilling system mainly consists of RCD, Auto-Choke Manifold, MPD scan lab, Back Pressure Pump (BPP), Surface piping, Non-Return Valve (NRV), MWD/PWD Tool (optional), etc.

The RCD is the key component for a closed-loop circulation system, which diverts the drilling fluid from main return line to auto-choke manifold where proper measurement is taken. The drilling fluid flows through the auto-choke manifold and is then discharged to mud tanks via either a mud-gas separator (MGS) or shale shakers. BPP inlet is directly connected to mud tanks; the discharge line of BPP is linked to rig choke manifold/rig kill skid and to upstream of auto-choke manifold to achieve the objectives of filling the wellbore with drilling fluid when tripping out and applying a proper pressure if necessarily needed.

Auto-Choke Manifold

Auto-choke manifold is designed for automatically controlling the well head pressure (WHP) to a target one and taking all necessary measurement for monitoring kick or fluid loss.

MPD scan lab

MPD scan lab provides work space for MPD crew. All MPD drilling operations are monitored here and it serves as a command center.

MWD/PWD Tool

Normally MWD/PWD is used for real-time measuring well trajectory. It enables us to take real-time bottom hole pressure and to perform dynamic formation pressure test. The data from this tool could be used as an indicator of well influx or mud loss.

Surface piping

Piping is for connections between different eqiupment. There are two types of piping available: rigid steel pipes and flexible armored hose with union or flanged connectors. Special customization can be fabricated upon request.

▲ Choke discharge line: 4 1/16" or 5 1/8" , 2000 psi, steel or armored hose
