Early kick & loss monitoring system is a system integrating real time data acquisition for drilling parameters, fluid loss and influx calculation, influx/loss identification and message notification. When a loss or kick is detected, warning messages are delivered for immedate attention before a possible catrastraphic conquence would occur.

The system uses innovative information technology and drilling big data to establish a mathematical model of kick and loss under various drilling conditions. When put into real application, the system collects real time drilling parameters from a well, performs certain calculation, compares the results with those from the model, and continously check if the criteria for a kick or loss are satisfied every second. Warning messages will be delivered once a kick or loss is identified.
